Create a strong Integrity Commission

After more than 2 years and numerous scandals, we still don’t have a corruption watchdog with teeth.

The current government proposal would not have been able to investigate the sports rorts or Western Sydney airport land sale.

Small changes are not enough. We need a strong integrity commission to protect our democracy.

The government proposal for an integrity commission has been assessed as the worst in the country.

MP Helen Haines and Senator Rex Patrick have already introduced legislation for the corruption watchdog that has everything needed to be effective – MPs only need to pass it.
